Earthquake & Home
Useful information about Compulsory Earthquake / Home Insurance
Compulsory Earthquake Insurance is an essential protection for residential buildings. When it is evaluated together with home insurance, belongings and additional risks can also be considered.
Address, building age, construction type, gross square meters and ownership details are required for a proper quotation. These details help determine the correct compulsory earthquake policy.
After an earthquake or home-related loss, official announcements should be followed and damage should be documented safely. We support the customer during the notification and document preparation stages.
DASK (Compulsory Earthquake Insurance) is a legal requirement for residential buildings in Turkey and is checked at title deed transactions and utility connections. It covers the building structure against earthquake and earthquake-triggered fire, explosion, landslide and tsunami, up to the official maximum sum insured. Because that ceiling is often below the real rebuilding cost — and because contents are not included — a voluntary home policy on top of DASK completes the protection.
What is typically covered?
- Structural damage to the building caused by earthquake
- Earthquake-triggered fire, explosion, landslide and tsunami
- Foundations, main walls, common walls, roofs, stairs and elevators shafts
- Home contents and valuables via a complementary voluntary home policy
- Earthquake cover above the DASK ceiling as an optional extension
Who is it for?
Every residential property owner is legally required to have DASK. Owners of higher-value homes, buildings with shops underneath, and anyone whose contents represent significant value should consider the voluntary extension. The premium depends on construction type, year, floor area and the risk zone of the address.
What sets our agency apart
Your home is not just a building; it is where your family's daily life takes place. Our agency explains from the outset the difference between compulsory earthquake cover and an optional home policy, and which damage is paid under which section, so there are no surprises later. After an event such as an earthquake or a flood we are the first number you call: collecting documents, arranging the loss adjuster's visit and following up the application stay with us. Approaching people with empathy is not a slogan for us; it means answering the phone at the moment of a claim.
